Understanding the NDIS
The NDIS is Australia’s program supporting people with permanent and significant disability, providing funding for the services and support they need.
What is the NDIS?
Established in 2013, the NDIS is an Australian government initiative built on choice and control. It empowers participants to set personal goals and access tailored supports — including therapies, equipment, personal care and community engagement. Eligibility depends on age, residency and how a disability affects daily functioning. Run by the National Disability Insurance Agency, its objectives centre on independence, social inclusion and improved quality of life.
The NDIS difference
Building and using your NDIS plan means creating personalised goals and accessing supports tailored to your needs — enhancing your independence and quality of life. Involving family strengthens collaborative planning so your plan truly reflects your aspirations, helping you reach milestones and grow your community participation.
